How do I reconcile GSTR-2A/2B in Zoho Books?
In Zoho Books, open the GST Filing module, pick the month under "GST Summary For", click View Summary, then Fetch Summary under the GSTR-2B section to pull transactions from the GST portal (you may need to re-verify with an OTP if your session has expired). Zoho Books then sorts every transaction into Missing in GSTN, Missing in Zoho Books, Partially Matched, Matched or Reconciled, and you work through each group using the Accept, Modify and Match, Create and Match, or Add to GSTN actions.
Steps to reconcile
This is Zoho's own documented process for pulling and reconciling GSTR-2B inside Books.
- Open the GST Filing module from the left sidebar.
- Select the month to reconcile under "GST Summary For".
- Click View Summary and scroll to the GSTR-2B section.
- Click Fetch Summary to pull the transactions from the GST portal — re-authenticate with an OTP if your session has expired.
- Review the transactions sorted into Missing in GSTN, Missing in Zoho Books, Partially Matched, Matched and Reconciled.
- Use Accept, Modify and Match, Create and Match, or Add to GSTN from the Action dropdown to resolve each one.
FAQs
What does "Missing in GSTN" mean?
It's a transaction recorded in Zoho Books that hasn't shown up in the GSTR-2B pulled from the portal — usually because the supplier hasn't filed it yet.
What's the difference between Partially Matched and Matched?
Matched transactions correspond fully between Zoho Books and the portal data; Partially Matched transactions align on some details but not all, and need a manual review before you accept or correct them.
What if fetching the GSTR-2B summary asks for an OTP?
That happens when your GST portal session inside Zoho Books has expired — click Generate OTP and enter the code sent to your registered phone or email to continue.
