Why is GST credit not tagged in Busy after I claimed it on the portal?

In Busy's ITC monthly tagging report, press F4 on the entry to tag it. Only entries that exist in Busy's own data can be tagged: rows that appear in the report from the GST portal only cannot be tagged, because there is no voucher behind them. Record the missing purchase voucher first, then tag it.

Steps

This is the guidance in Busy's FAQ for credit that was claimed on the portal but does not show as tagged in your books.

  1. Open the ITC monthly tagging report in Busy for the month.
  2. Move to the entry you want to tag and press F4.
  3. If the row came from the GST portal and has no Busy voucher, record the purchase voucher in Busy first.
  4. Run the report again and tag the new voucher with F4.
  5. If a difference remains after tagging, Busy's FAQ lists delayed data updates, wrong entries, missing invoices, GSTIN or rate mismatches, invoice dates, upload errors and ITC reversals as the usual reasons.
How Charter AI does this

In Charter AI's reconciliation review you can mark a portal row as a match, create a draft purchase voucher straight from a portal row that is not in your books, or ignore a row with a note. Charter AI does not file the return.

FAQs

Can I tag a row that came only from the GST portal?

No. Busy's FAQ says only Busy data can be tagged, so a portal-only row needs a voucher in Busy first.

Why is there still a difference after tagging?

Busy's FAQ lists delay in data update, incorrect entry, missing invoices, GSTIN or tax rate mismatch, invoice date, upload error and ITC reversal as common reasons.
